- First, open the Instagram app on your iPhone or Android phone. If you have multiple accounts, remember to log in to the one you want to use first.
- Select your account in the bottom right section.
- Tap Followers and check your list of followers to see who is no longer on your list.
You can also download your Instagram data to find out who unfollowed you:
- In the Instagram app, select your profile.
- Then tap the hamburger menu icon at the top right to enter the Settings and Activity section.
- Select Accounts Center.
- On the next page, scroll down, then select Your Information and Permissions.
- Tap Download your information.
Select the Download or Transfer Information option, then select your Instagram profile if it is in the list displayed, and then tap Next.
- In this section, select Some of your information options.
- Scroll down, and in the Connections section, check the Followers and follow option, then choose Next.
- You will be presented with two options for the storage location. We chose Download to device. Now tap Next.
- Select a date range for your report, such as All Time, then click Create Files.
- You’ll receive two emails. One tells you that a report is now being created, and the other tells you that the process is complete. After you receive the second email, return to Instagram and select Download next to the name of the completed report.
- Enter your Instagram password to receive the report.
- You can open the report in the location you chose to create it.
- Now that you have your follower information, you can compare it to your current follower count to see who has unfollowed you. The more followers you have, the longer the process will take, but this is the best and most reliable way to determine who has unfollowed you.

With this app, you can examine your “Ghost” users more closely, see who’s posting near your location, track the average number of likes per photo, and more. The app is updated regularly (several times a month), which is a good sign, as it’s more likely to work properly if it integrates with Instagram.

3. Follow Cop app
If you’re an Android user looking for a great follower-tracking app, Follow Cop is definitely worth checking out. It lets you see unfollowers, users who recently unfollowed you, ghost followers, top likes, and more. Since this app only shows you who has unfollowed you recently, you should check your unfollowers regularly. Among these unfollowers, you can also see if you’re following them yourself.
Follow Cop also lets you manage your followers more easily than Instagram’s tools allow. You can bulk unfollow up to 15 users, use filters to find fake followers and connect up to three Instagram accounts to the app at once. The free version supports 15 unfollows at a time, but you’ll be able to repeat this process as many times as you want.
